Volunteers working in community

Giving back to rebuild value

Active volunteering is an excellent way to restore self-esteem, build solid work ethics, and connect positively with the local community.

At Camp David UK, we believe that recovery is an active process. Sitting inside a facility all day can delay reintegration. That is why we encourage residents to participate in our local community volunteer schemes.

By participating in civic improvement, environmental cleanup, food distribution, and community support schemes, our clients learn to focus outward. They build strong relationships, establish structural routines, and discover that they have valuable skills and support to offer to society.

Active projects & schemes

  • Civic & Environmental Work: Participating in local park cleaning, gardening, and community repair initiatives.
  • Charitable Support Work: Volunteering at homeless food banks, distributing warm clothing, and helping with charity events.
  • Soft Skills Acquisition: Learning teamwork, project planning, time management, and public engagement.
  • Bespoke Work Placements: Coordinating with local businesses to secure low-pressure work experience options for clients in late recovery.

Who is this for?

This service is integrated into our residential and aftercare models, providing active rehabilitation for residents prepared to engage in outdoor community work.
